You are the new leader of the Republic of Rome, tasked with expanding the republic's territory to the Balkans, Macedonia, Greece, and Anatolia. Your mission is to initiate war and capture all islands and peninsulas. Various nations, including the Albanians, Macedonians, Spartans, Athenians, and Barbarians, will attack your republic.

This campaign is crucial to establishing the Roman Empire as a dominant power in the Italian peninsula, the central Mediterranean Sea zone, the Balkans, and Anatolia. The Roman Empire's control extends beyond central Italy, and you will face the ancient Albanian Kingdom of Epirus. You will engage in 16 costly battles against Ionian nations and city-states. The renowned General Hannibal of Carthage, a master of war strategy, is also involved in conflicts with Balkan nations.
