ASCCP Management Guidelines

New 2019 ASCCP Risk-Based Management Consensus Guidelines for abnormal cervical cancer screening tests and cancer precursors offer updated recommendations.

ASCCP has developed an app to facilitate navigation of the ASCCP Risk-Based Management Consensus Guidelines for abnormal cervical cancer screening tests and cancer precursors. The guidelines articles, published in the Journal of Lower Genital Tract Disease, and comprehensive risk estimates, are available at https://www.asccp.org/guidelines.

Initially developed in 2019 through a collaborative consensus process of 19 organizations, these evidence-based management guidelines aim to:

• Enhance risk estimation accuracy and completeness
• Provide targeted interventions for high-risk individuals to detect and treat more precancer
• Reduce unnecessary interventions for low-risk individuals, minimizing harm and unnecessary testing
• Enable future incorporation of new risk modifiers and emerging screening and management technologies
