Developed by the team that introduced remote ham radio exams in the United States and supported by Icom, HamStudy utilizes the same database, ensuring question pools are always current. When updates are released or changes are made, they will be available on the app's pool list screen with an internet connection.
While an active internet connection is not required for use, the app will sync progress with the HamStudy.org website and download updates when connected.
HamStudy is a question pool-based study tool designed to complement existing study methods. Although not a full instructional tool, the included explanations for all questions, contributed by users, can be surprisingly informative.
Created by hams with volunteer examiner experience and supported by Icom, this app differs from typical study tools, which often focus on practice exams. HamStudy provides tools to study specific areas of the question pool, focusing on the parts that need the most attention.
The intelligent Study Mode tracks progress, offering statistics on what's been seen and identifying areas for improvement. Questions are repeated as needed, and explanations can be viewed by tapping the "explain" button. Practice Exams assess readiness for the test and highlight areas for focus in Study Mode.
Progress can be shared with friends or instructors for collaborative studying.
* Study all current US Amateur Radio question pools (Technician, General, Amateur Extra) and download free updates when available. Additional pools, including FCC commercial and international pools, can be downloaded within the app. Visit https://hamstudy.org for a full list.
* HamStudy's Study Modes adapt to the user's learning pace, tracking progress and adjusting the challenge level. User-submitted explanations promote understanding beyond mere memorization. Syncing with a HamStudy.org account prevents data loss and allows for easy device switching.
* Share progress with other HamStudy.org users and collaborate to achieve the next license exam goal.

Many users have been asking us when the new question pool update would be added to HamStudy -- and since the answer is "On Mar 1, 2024" but they didn't find it we have attempted it make it easier to find! Also new users will get that pool by default as of this release. We also have better quality diagrams (hidpi) and fixed a few edge cases which could lead to data loss. Update: contains a possible bugfix for issues on older android versions.
